This type of ageing is caused by exposure to the sun and tobacco.
Ageing of the skin is linked to various phenomena :
-progressive atrophy of the skin
-decrease in skin elasticity
-superficial pigmentation (sun-induced keratosis,…)
The problem of ageing of the skin is well-known but one notices an acceleration of the ageing process in people who have often been exposed to the sun for a long time and to a certain extend also in smokers.
Many blemishes occur with age (actinic keratosis,...). Some of these benign blemishes can turn into cancerous growths.
For the greater part, as exposure to the sun plays an important part in the cause of skin cancers, the presence of these benign age blemishes and exposure to the sun dramatically increase the risks of skin cancer.
