Lipofilling or autologous fat tissue transfer fades deep wrinkles and folds around e.g. the mouth.
This technique can of course also be used for other purposes, e.g. to restore the fullness of the cheeks, to enhance the back of hands in patients with a thin epidermis, for penis enlargement , but also to improve the curve of the calf, the projection of the chin,...
The procedure consists in the lipoaspiration of the patient’s own fat which is then reinjected where necessary after centrifugation. In this case we are not talking a change of silhouette but merely the removal of a certain amount of fat for reuse where necessary.
This procedure is normally performed under local anaesthetic and takes about 1 to 2 hours depending on the indications and requires no hospitalization.
Some swelling may occur where the fat has been introduced.
This may interfere with the patient’s social life during the 2 to 3 days following the procedure.
At the end of the 2 to 3 day period swelling will have reduced considerably but the final result will only be obvious after 4 months.
Small touch-ups may be required to optimize the final result during the 4 to 6 months following the initial procedure.
Patients return for consultation :
- 15 days, 6 weeks, 3 and 6 months after the procedure.
